Decadent Donut Flavours at Isabella’s — Photo by Author

A couple of weeks back, I took an overnight trip to Toronto via a 40 minute drive to Burlington, and a one hour journey to downtown Toronto via Go Train, (which covers the Greater Toronto Area and many cities in Southern Ontario).

It was a semi-spontaneous trip brought on by my need to use a free hotel voucher at the Hyatt. The voucher was about to expire, and I didn’t feel like booking a flight to use it. I arrived at the bustling Union Station excited to start the quick visit to the big city.

I have been many times before, but this time the scene felt especially fast, energetic and new. A sharp contrast to Guelph, Ontario where I live. After the journey, I was a little tired but curious to see what was new at Union Station.

Always on the look out for new things to try, Isabella’s caught my eye with its catchy sign, clean design, and the lure of unique and flavorful donuts. I couldn’t resist checking it out. I needed some sugary fuel to keep me going for the last leg of the journey to the hotel, via about a 15-minute Subway ride.
